The Red Dress Gala is Alpha Phi’s most exciting philanthropic event of the year. RDG is adopted by many collegiate chapters of Alpha Phi as their signature fundraising event. Our Gala takes place in the fall during ASU’s Parents’ Weekend. Festivities include a cocktail hour, reception, dinner, musical entertainment, exciting speakers, and silent auction at an elegant venue. All Alpha Phis wear red dresses to raise awareness of women’s heart health issues.
Congratulations to our 2017-2018 Ivy Men: Chayton Harman Lamda Chi Alpha, Nick Kontz of Sigma Tau Gamma, Kai Arce of Alpha Sigma Phi, Broderick Jones of Sigma Chi , and King Ivy Ryder Abella of Pi Kappa Phi.
Our popular spring philanthropy, “Hoops for Hearts”, is a week-long competition among ASU fraternity/sorority chapters and other organizations. Competing organizations are judged by t-shirt sales, a social media challenge, “Quesaphia” (queadillas) food night, 2K video game truck tournament, and the highlight basketball tournament. It is one of our favorite times of the year!
Each semester, you can find Alpha Phis volunteering at a variety of organizations and giving back in a number of ways. Many of our sisters volunteer at local hospitals, food banks, and after school programs. We also partner with Phoenix Children’s Hospital and give out some very special Phi Bears made with love! Alpha Phis are always there to lend a helping hand.
